After-Care Instructions

Important Information!

Some redness/swelling/light bruising and slight itching during the healing process post-procedure is normal. If you experience heavy itching, extreme swelling, blistering, or any other complications within the first 24 hours post-procedure, stop using your after-care product immediately. If symptoms continue, or you experience abnormal swelling/redness or shortness of breath/trouble breathing, inform your artist, your primary doctor, or go to the closest Hospital ER; you may be having an allergic reaction to the pigment and/or the aftercare product you are using.

    • Apply a cool pack on and off if needed to prevent bruising/swelling.

    • Day 1 (procedure day):
Before bed, clean your lips every few hours. Use warm water and a mild antibacterial soap, or the cotton round with antibacterial solution we provided. Gently wipe the area, then pat dry with a clean tissue.
      Day 2:
      Repeat the same cleaning routine.

    • Starting Day 3: Apply a small amount of the provided aftercare ointment to your lips. Keep the area lightly moisturized. Continue until the ointment is gone.

After your lips have fully peeled and the ointment is finished, you may switch to your favorite lip balm or moisturizer. This will help keep your lips hydrated, as they may feel dry for about a month.

    • To avoid discomfort and irritation, avoid the following for one day: toothpaste
with peroxide and hot/ spicy foods.

    • Avoid the following for three days: whitening toothpaste and teeth whiteners.

    • Do not peel or pick at the crust, this will cause pigment loss, scarring, and delayed healing!

    • It is 100% normal for your lips to feel dry for several weeks to a few months after your permanent makeup has healed. The lip skin constantly regenerates, and during this process, the area can feel tighter or drier than usual. This is temporary and will improve as the skin fully restores itself. Keeping the lips well-hydrated will help support this regeneration and maintain your results.

    • During the healing process, please refrain from using products with petroleum jelly, like Vaseline or Aquaphor. We recommend pure coconut oil or EOS products.

Some factors are in your control, and others may not be.

Factors Within Your Control: Nutritional status (vitamin status and how healthy you eat can influence how you heal) Hydration of the skin (meaning you want to be drinking plenty of water) How closely do you follow aftercare instructions (avoiding makeup, sun, lotion, etc. on the wound while it is healing) Smoking (smoking will increase healing time & make your pigment fade quickly, please avoid smoking during the healingprocess)
Factors Outside of Your Control: The age of your skin (younger skin tends to retain pigment less than mature skin) Oily skin (the more oily the skin the shorter the results will last) Excessive sun damage Genetics and issues with immune function Hormone imbalances such as hypothyroidism or estrogen dominance can impact pigmentation of the skin Medical conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes High levels of stress
