After-Care Instructions

Important Information!

Some redness/swelling/light bruising and slight itching during the healing process post-procedure is normal. If you experience heavy itching, extreme swelling, blistering, or any other complications within the first 24 hours post-procedure, stop using your after-care product immediately. If symptoms continue, or you experience abnormal swelling/redness or shortness of breath/trouble breathing, inform your artist, your primary doctor, or go to the closest Hospital ER; you may be having an allergic reaction to the pigment and/or the aftercare product you are using.

Some factors are in your control, and others may not be.

Factors Within Your Control: Nutritional status (vitamin status and how healthy you eat can influence how you heal) Hydration of the skin (meaning you want to be drinking plenty of water) How closely do you follow aftercare instructions (avoiding makeup, sun, lotion, etc. on the wound while it is healing) Smoking (smoking will increase healing time & make your pigment fade quickly; please avoid smoking during the healingprocess)
Factors Outside of Your Control: The age of your skin (younger skin tends to retain pigment less than mature skin) Oily skin (the more oily the skin the shorter the results will last) Excessive sun damage Genetics and issues with immune function Hormone imbalances such as hypothyroidism or estrogen dominance can impact pigmentation of the skin Medical conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes High levels of stress
